Not sure about the comments of this fan being worthless beyond the fact of the hard to reach operation of the open/shut mech and switch function.

We have been using ours with great success for shower humidity contol/removal since new and it does a fair job, atleast as a good as a standard Broan bathroom stick built fan. It draws the moist air out when showering, and also helps circulate any heat/smoke build up when used in conjunction with our kitchen OEM MaxAir fan without having to open the front door.

That's pretty cool. For those that aren't as technical, they make aftermarket knobs with a metal loop on them and a pole to turn them. This is similar to what we purchased - https://www.amazon.com/Barker-29070-.../dp/B0027XEGOO

My take on the OP is that just the part that contacts the knob is required, but with female threads centered to accept an old broom handle or paint extension handle. The free end of the handle can be used to turn on the fan. Sometimes a person is seated when said person realizes the vent needs to be opened and fan turned on.

Unless we're camping below 35F or so, we usually keep the bathroom roof vent open. We have Maxxair 2 covers on our vents. If additional ventilation is needed, open the bathroom window.

We installed a Maxxair fan with remote control attached to wall where it can be reached while setting on the royal throne.

Yeah we usually keep one of the vent fans running all day just for air circulation purposes and we also have Maxxair 2 covers on ours.

@Groover - well done......thanks for sharing the details and pictures. May be the first time as I recall where someone on the forum has shared something done with a 3D printer. Nice !

I just put a small folding stool in the bathroom so that my wife can reach the vent and the switch. The stool folds flat and I store it between the toilet and the wall.
