Long trip maintenance checklist / Suggestions

We are planning a 2,600 mile trip this fall. We’ve been stationary for most of the 3 years we’ve owned our 310GK only putting ~2,000 miles on it so far.

Looking for suggestions on extra maintenance you’d do before such a trip especially given it’s been sitting for a while.

    Thanks.

For me, the number one thing to ensure a safe trip would be checking tires and suspension system, including brakes and bearings.

....pin box, 5th wheel hitch, running lights, battery, TV assorted maintenance.... may also be worth while to check.

Tires! If you've been sitting in one place, you probably will need to replace the tires.

Very true! Back in the '90s we used a Jayco TT as a Lakecation home and set it on blocks and took the tires off for 3 yrs and placed stacked flat in our shed, on our lake lot. They were still like new when we put them back on and sold the RV. Leaving them on would have exposed them to the elements and create flat spots.... definitely would replace them if they were left on the TT that long and getting ready for a long trip.

interesting. I wouldn’t think I’d need to replace but it is on the list to check. The rv is on concrete and the tires facing the Sun are covered (and it in Portland so not the blazing Sun of some places). My previous RV was stored at my home under a roof (no sides) and I never had any issues. Is this a common problem for a 3 year old rv?

It might. I would check them for dry rot. Especially the concrete side.
