    Creeping Jack

Has anyone had a Lippert hydraulic Jack that started creeping down? Searched the forum can’t find any answers. Thanks in advance

There have been a couple examples of that happening. First thought is a solenoid valve not closing completely. Is it just one? Have you tried cycling the system several times to try and free up the valve? Is it always the same one? Is this an AutoLevel system?

Yes I have tried cycling the system several times. Goes up and down fine on manual and auto level. It is the same Jack, middle passenger side.

Hmm, the middle and rear jacks usually work together, so it could be a leaky seal in the hydraulic cylinder itself. Does it keep going down until you raise it back up, or will it stop on its own? If you lower it a little bit and stop, will it drift down gradually? I'm assuming the hydraulic fluid level is good.

Lots of fluid. Goes down about halfway and stops.Tried the partway thing, goes down halfway in about two minutes.

So after reading some other posts on the Big Horn site, i moved the rear jacks up and down about 10 times and the one creeping Jack cured itself. I guess the first time was about five and did not fix it. I also drilled a 1/2” hole in each of the foot pads in case I ever have to tie a Jack up:

I had read that it needed to be done a lot of times, but had no real evidence that it worked. I'm glad you came back and reported that it worked for you. At least we now have a solution, perhaps, that will work for others with similar problems. Thank you.
