    Tires Need Changed

Im at the life of my tires on the Momentum. Currently has G-rated Westlakes, but thinking about Sailun as the replacements. Any recent info on Sailun and if they are holding up on rhe highway? A couple years ago i remember hearing that Sailuns were having probs similar to Westlakes.

    Thanks

Sailun had a few issues when they moved a plant (from China to Vietnam, I believe). I've not heard of any issues since they got things straightened out a few years ago. We have had two sets of Sailuns with zero issues.

Yes, the Sailun do seem to have gotten their act together. We have a set, our second set, and they have given us no issues. An excellent tire, IMO of course.

We replaced ours with Sailuns in mid 2021 and have had no issues with them so far.

Westlakes to me have gotten a bad rap. Ive been running westlake G rated without issues. I recently also decided to change mine out now. I did switch to Carlisles, they seem very beefy and have deep tread. Bottomline is make sure the tires are overated for your load and watch your pressures. I have a triple axle GD 395.

I have the original Westlakes on my 2018 Reflection 315 RLTS. It's only been towed about 5000 miles (8000 Kilometers). How many miles have people with the same unit went before changing them? Thanks in advance!

What size and load range are those Westlakes?

Most trailer tires age out long before the tread is worn out.
IMO, 5 years is the most I will run a quality tire. The West lakes are not a quality tire. 3 years is an old Westlake. You are over due. Do not try to be frugal with tires. A blowout often results in several thousand dollars of trailer damage.

As another option, the Cooper Roadmaster RM170's (215/75R17.5) that came on my 349M from the factory have been really good tires. I've spun them up a few times (speed rating L - 75mph) for more than a couple miles as well as pulled them through sand, snow, and rocky roads.

After 2.5 years, they're still going strong.
