Water leak from wet bay... HELP !

    Hi,

First shakedown trip of the season. I did a complete winterization in Nov (before any freezing weather) and de-winterized last week.
I installed an "L" connector to the main water port to prevent the normal wear and tear on the connector.

I did find it difficult to connect the water hose to the connection, and found the "L" connector loose, so I tried to tighten it, but it seems it is just spinning. I think this is where one of my problems exists.

When I use the "city" and maintain an incoming water pressure (using a water regulator set for 50 PSI) I noticed a drip on the outside just forward of the slid. Although it seems to be a "slow" leak, not a gushing leak. The underbelly was dry. On the inside, water is pooling. Refer to pic.

I of course shut the water off, and used the water in the fresh tank, which seems OK, no leaks.

    Any thoughts ?

Does anybody have access to a water piping schematic ?

    Take it apart and look

There should be screws holding the side panel on that your water connection hooks to

There are several good threads on the Nautilus system within this site. I agree to remove the screws and gain access to the back of the Nautilus control board. While you are there it is always a good idea to install a water detection sensor. Cheap insurance in my opinion to catch an early leak.

The xls does not have the Nautilus system.

It still has the same mix of diverter valves that were designed to work with PEX and 1/2" flex lines that do not seal properly. My parents have a 22MLE and it also had a lot of leaks. We ended up changing most of it to PEX. The 1/2" flex lines are notorious for leaking at the PEX crimp. Look up my user name and you will see several postings about my journey to fix all of the leaks in my Reflection 28BH.

Did you take the panel off and inspect?

In order to tighten or loosen/remove the L connector you need to hold the part that the L is screwed into so it does not turn.

I had to fix a leak this past weekend and found it very helpful to use a heat gun to "loosen" the connection. I replaced the "L" piece with a half inch brass Shark Bite.
