Grease the shackle bolts

Had same experience, figured loosen nut and turn bolt. I loosened the nut and the threads came off. And thanks to this forum I now know why the bolt would not turn due to the splines. Was leaving for a trip that day so found a regular nut that fit. I believe the nuts are 1/2 fine thread. Can someone confirm? Also anyone know the torque spec so I can put on a new nut and torque it? Thanks.

WARNING/DANGER!!Those nuts are not regular nuts. I forget the name for them, but they are a one use nut. It is machined in a way that it clamps onto the threads. A regular nut WILL work loose and fall off.
Best to get them from wherever you get your suspension parts. I use Auto Safety House if I need them fast.

FWIW, the Dexter wet bolt kit comes with flange lock nuts.
