Another storage saddle bin fix
Yesterday I opened the curb side basement door and saw light asking the edge, where no light should be coming through. My saddle bin was pulling though the screws.
I removed the bin, cut 5 - 21" lengths of metal strap and screwed them in to support the bin.
The first picture is of one of the metal straps.
The next two are of the install of the straps. I used both a fender washer and a rubber washer with flat drywall screws, on both ends.
The last two are the fender washers I used to help mitigate them pulling through, again.
EDIT: I mistyped the length, they are 21" I also fixed the wording about the pictures.

I had the same problem on by 290bh. I can't believe GD didn't put any support underneath these bins. They are right in front of the trailer tires after all, anything that falls through a broken bin lands right in front of your tires. I don't even use them during transit. I had scrap angle iron pieces that I cut and drilled holes into to bolt them on to the trailer frame under the bins, similar to what you did.

What we did was put a transition strip like you would have between two rooms in your house. Raised very slightly in the middle going flat on the edges. What this does is keep things like bins when pulling them out from catching on the bin and cracking it. Did this 4 or 5 years ago and haven't had a problem since. Had too much weight in the front compartment which caused it to start pulling loose. Got the best adhesive I could get Which not only helped put it back together but also resealed it. Then I ran a lot of sheet metal screws for support. That was 4 years ago and has held since.
