Inverter Recommendation?
Did not know if I should add this to my previous inverter post or start a new one. Apologize if it should be with previous post. Two weeks ago I replaced the WFCO-5110R inverter with the newer 5110-RS. Today it is dead. No lights or anything, just dead. Has 12 volts and 110 volts feeding it. I've read that others have had theirs just go dead. It's under warranty and I can also get a refund at this point. Perhaps I got a lemon. Sometimes electronics just go bad. I find it to be old school electronics with relays. I am considering trying to find something more modern and solid state. It would have to be able to reuse the cable from present inverter to the remote, so I won't have to pull a new cable. First question, what inverter do the newer Solitudes come with? What do you folks recommend? This is a 1000 watt inverter that's just for the refrigerator. In the interim I have reinstalled my original inverter. It allows operation on shore power only. It works so I don't have any power electrical problems.

Sorry to hear of your issues. Glad to hear that at least your old unit works. What will you be using the inverter for besides powering the frig? If it is frig only I would just stay with the one you have. Do you operate off-grid and need AC power? If so I have had good luck with my Renogy inverter.

GD uses WFCO because they are inexpensive. And we all know what "inexpensive" means.
Find a respected brand name and use it. Renege, Progressive, Xantrex - lots to choose from. Maybe a good time to consider one that would also be Lithium battery friendly in case you ever go that route.
I suppose EFCO is a brand name - I guess I mean one that is not what most RV manufacturers use because it saves them money (and costs us money in the long run).Larry KE4DMG
