Tires for 2500RL
What size tire should I put on my 2021 2500RL?
Currently: ST205/75R15
Should I go to the 225/75/15? Higher load range and tire pressure….2021 Grand Design 2500RL

How's the load you're carrying compare to the load range of the tire? What brand of tire?

Well, the stock lower rated Westlake tires can be problematical. There are a fair number of complaints of them failing prematurely. Whether you'll have a problem is anybody's guess. Spending the money on a TPMS would be a good idea, but the tire can let go with no warning whatsoever. Personally I think replacing the Westlake tires would be a good idea, but I also have no recommendation for what to replace them with, but it wouldn't be with another Westlake.

If you have enough clearance between the top of the tire and the floor of the trailer, I do not believe it can hurt to move to 225 tires. One of the first things I did on my 2400bh is install Goodyear Endurance 225s with metal valve stems and a TPMS.
I'd consider replacing them simply due to age and unknown history, e.g. towing speeds, curb strikes, etc. Relatively low cost "insurance" against a catastrophic blow out - although nothing is guaranteed.Last edited by jproctor9; 05-14-2023 at 08:32 AM.

Oh!? I had forgotten that! I had assumed I’d forgotten much in intervening years! Been in a class A for 7 years…different experience….
So 7500# with 13% on the hitch….975# on the hitch/truck. I’m guessing of course. The truck should have no trouble with that. (I do have an equalizer)2021 Grand Design 2500RL

Run! Do not walk, to replace those tires. We just had two blowouts 150 miles apart on the heavy side of our 2600RB. And we had the E rated Westlakes. I thought we'd be okay, since it was the Ds that had been the big issue. The date codes on ours are not yet 3 years, and about 16000 miles.
It seems the smaller tires are rated way too low, so see if the 225s will fit your rig. I guess yours is a 2020 delivered unit, so you didn't get the mid year upgrades?
As far as I can tell, the only decent tires are the Goodyears, maybe the new Hankooks. Both rated to 87 MPH. I would not buy any Chinese tire. Quality control is way too spotty.
