    Fantastic Fan Vent Cover

    Hello all
I want to install a vent cover over my bedroom fantastic fan. These fans are made of plastic not aluminum or metal. From what I read you need the ultrabreeze cover and
apparently you have to screw the brackets down thru the roof. Is there any other solution? Has anyone screwed the brackets into the plastic portion of the vent frame or tried another brand?

I've installed the Ultra-Breeze vent covers on all three roof vents. They're mounted using 4 of the existing screws that attach the flange of the roof vent to the roof...not making new holes. Just need to install the mounting screws with lap sealant like Dicor and cover the screw heads with the same.

X3, on all three vents. We had a thunder storm while in Yosemite, open vents without covers was a little damp.

    Hello all!
we are new too the Grand Design owners group, and so far its been great. I have a question along the Fantastic fan line. I bought two, one for the kitchen and one for the bath. Upon removal of the original vent, I noted that the product used to seal between the rubber roof and the vent is black and more rubbery than the Butal type putty. Any thoughts on removal of this substance without damaging the rubber roof?
Also, my intentions are to NOT use the foam gasket they provide for reinstallation and just go with the butal and reseal with the self leveling 551 LSW. Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan
