What price should we pay for 375RE

Hey guys, the internet is full of FULL price deals for the 375RE. A local dealer offered us a deal of 71K. Thoughts is this a okm good, or great deal?

    Thx
    Brett

    Brett:

It's very hard to talk prices about RV's online. It sometimes causes hard feelings when some owners find out what others paid for the identical unit. Dealers have an agreement with Grand Design to all advertise MSRP pricing online for current model trailers. It's common knowledge that nobody pays the posted prices, however.

Most dealers will discount at least the high 20's percentage off list price. But be aware that a dealer in California will have substantial delivery costs where a dealer in Northern Ohio won't have to pay much to get his trailers delivered.

When I was shopping for my Reflection, I figured out where all the Grand Design dealers within 3 hours of home were. It was easy to figure out on RVTrader.com who the most aggressive dealer was, and I got a price quoted on the telephone from them. My local dealer was $8-9K more than that dealer for the same trailer. The other dealers were out of the ballpark by $2Kish. I was driving by another dealer that had Grand Design, and we stopped. We put our best deal on the table and he beat it by $1K--and had a scheduled stock trailer production slot changed to our specifications. We had the trailer in 3 weeks--very fast turnaround.

As I get further and further into RV ownership, I see now that price is not everything. Dealers' reputation for being customer driven is especially important, and the quality of service turnaround is important. It's just not worth paying $1K more if that dealer has a 4-5 month service on minor little warranty items. Fortunately, I've had nothing go wrong with my trailer that I know about and we're out of warranty this week. Good luck to you on your search for a high quality dealer that's willing to earn your business with a fair price.
