    Front cap sealant

The caulk at the seam of my front cap and side rails is loose in a few places. Is there special caulk that should be used there or is any black silicon ok?

Stay away from silicone sealants on your RV. It's almost impossible to get anything to adhere if, at some point, you need to redo the application. My roofing material manufacturer recommends Apha sealant products, but generally Dicor sealant works well, either non-sag or self-leveling.

Are you putting Dicor and alpha sealant on your front cap? I am referring to the front face of the trailer, where the corner rail is attached to the front cap. Not the roof membrane.

I have used Dicor in the past, but not real happy with it anywhere other than the roof as it seems to collect dirt and looks dingy in a fairly short time. There are other sealants people recommend for not roof use, and I'm sure someone will be along to list them.

I had the same issue with my front cap, just on one side. I used this. So far, so good.

That's the stuff I've seen recommended before.
