    Question regarding 3 ACs and ducting -- calling MomentumGunner!

    I took a look at the three ACs on my 350M this weekend and have a question. The main room AC unit was open to the ductwork on both sides as it should be. The bedroom AC was BLOCKED on both sides to the ductwork. And finally, the garage AC was open to the ductwork on one side but was blocked on the other side.

    Does anyone (MomentumGunner?) know if all three ACs should be tied into the ductwork? If so then I'll open up the blocked openings. If they're NOT, then why would the garage AC have one side open to the ducting but not the other side?

    For reference, the arrow below is pointing to the openings I'm talking about (thanks for the pic MomentumGunner!).

    Look this was covered before in a previous post. I'm not sure if all toy haulers are built the same way, but I being one of the first owners of the 350M, I can tell you that on my unit, the bedroom and garage are blocked to the duct work and the main AC is the only one ducted.

    I think this was brought up on the Facebook page, and someone from GD said all 3 are ducted and they forgot to punch the hole through. Basically, just needed to fold the tape in.

    My understanding was if they are factory installed (or even after market ducted) they all should be open to the ducts.

    All three SHOULD be open to the ducts. My theory is that the team they have installing the non-standard 2nd and 3rd A/C units just doesn't know (or doesn't always remember) to open the ducts on both sides. They may be going too fast or just aren't trained for it.

    Question regarding 3 ACs and ducting -- calling MomentumGunner!

    @RamGunner,

    I pulled my bedroom AC cover off yesterday to see if it was vented to the duct, and as I stated earlier, mine is not.

    But for curiosity sake I decided to pull the foil tape off the side of the AC that had an opening to the ceiling. After removing that tape on both sides and reattached the AC cover, the air did not blow to the vents, but instead into my ceilings themselves.

    I did feel around in there, I did feel the duct, but this duct is solid and I don't see how this was suppose to be ducted to the bedroom AC. Again I have one of the first thirty 350M's built with the factory 3 AC units. Without proof from GD and maybe some pictures to show how this is done, I just don't believe my garage and bedroom AC ever were to be vented like the main unit. Please feel free to better explain to me how all three SHOULD be open to the ducts in your theory?

    Thank you

    I'm afraid that without seeing how the actual ducting is put together and routed we'll never truly if the bedroom and garage ACs should be tied into the ducting. In THEORY they all should be, but it would appear that in PRACTICE it doesn't work that way. Such a shame that it's so hard to get details about these systems (ducting, plumbing, etc).

    Someone from GD said that they should be tied together and provided a pic on the Facebook page. What may have happened in Stephen's case is that it was not done on earlier 2015 builds and was something that was changed mid year. Others have stated that they have them ducted together, as Ramgunner has mentioned. I guess we'll just have to see if Stephen contacts GD and what their response will be.
