    Blocks for RV

I have been taking wood blocks along on our trips. They tend to be very heavy. What is everyone using? Right now I drag 4 2x10s and 4 6x6. We have been to places where a 6x6 almost was not tall enough. I can't imagine stacking 10 of those plastic blocks.

I carry two of the Andersen buckets, and a couple dozen of the yellow Camco blocks.

I also carry 4 2x10 . Two are about 14 inches longer than the tandem width of the 2 tires and the other 2 boards are about 8 inches longer . If i need 2 boards to level one side I roll up on the longer board first then the shorter board right above it. That way the boards stay together and don`t move that much. I also have many small boards to assist in different situations. One time their was a tight turn in a park with a gutter. The trailer leaned slowly against a tree on the gutter side of the turn. I needed a small board between the tires and a long board in front of the drive tire to pull the trailer away front the tree as a moved forward. I added more boards to move more away from the tree and out of the gutter. I will always carry those boards unless i am going to a KOA then I may only bring one or two boards.

We carry 2 sets of the yellow Camco lego blocks, 1 Anderson bucket for the tongue, and a few odd pieces of 2x4 and 2x6 just in case. Which we've used more often than not.

I have four stacks of the Cameo blocks (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1) and ditched all the wood I used to carry. Those blocks with the auto leveling do the trick no matter where we go off the grid.

If I had auto leveling, I wouldn't be asking about stacking blocks.

Even with the Autolevel, you find you still need blocks sometimes. We use them to shorten the amount of piston exposed and that seems to make the trailer feel more solid. Some people use them to level side-to-side before they Autolevel, but I've not felt the need for that.

The discussion of auto-leveling sounds like fifth wheel to me. Our Reflection travel trailer doesn't have that. Right now I carry a dozen two foot lengths of 2 x 8 treated lumber. One of these days I'm going to cut six of those boards into thirds, so I can have a taller stack under the front and rear stabilizers. For leveling, I put one board under each tire on the low side. If I need two boards I add one between the two for the tires so there isn't such a big drop. Since our trailer weights almost 12,000 pounds I'm not sure those plastic things will stand up very long.

Been using the same blocks for probably 10 years with a 15,000 lb. trailer, and our present 17,000 lb. trailer. Sure beats hauling all that of lumber.

We have the stabilizer jacks and also use the Camco blocks. Work great.
