Help installing Happijac bed rails after couch removal
I've just removed the couches in the garage intending to build a new bed platform so we have 2 beds in the garage instead of 1 (not satisfied with the couches as a bed option).
I purchased the trolley tab kit and 60" bed rails from Lippert. I'm wondering if I need additional parts as the trolley tab kit doesn't easily attach to what the couches mounted to as far as what moves vertically in the track of the Happijac system. Here is a pic of how to top bed attaches:
Here is a pic of the new spacer next to what the couches were mounted to. Only the top hole matches up. My question I guess is do I need a part that rides in the tracks to replace what the couches were mounted to?

The bronze piece you have pictured is the height limiter for the top bunk.
There is one installed at each corner directly to the vertical rail. If you raise your hapijac fully to the top you should see about 8 or so screw holes approx 5' from the floor. You would install the bronze piece at the same height on all four corners and it sets the top bed height.
When I've seen other people convert the bottom to a bed, they would use the couch hardware and remove the bracket that attaches directly to the couch and install it on the new bed.
If LCI sent you new hardware which matches the top bunk, you should look at the top bunk already installed as a reference.2023 Momentum 398M-R

Thanks for the reply.
Actually that bronze piece is a spacer that goes between the "L" shaped bracket and the piece inside the track so it doesn't pinch and bind when the brackets are installed. It's a little hard to see, but you can notice in the top picture that the "L" bracket doesn't touch the track, as it's held out by this spacer.
I purchased these parts (L brackets with the mentioned spacers and bed rails) in an attempt to simply mirror what's on top. I suppose I could maybe get away with just using one screw in the top of the new "L" brackets and spacer. You think that would be sufficient?-2016 Momentum 350M

I gotcha, guess they use the same part for both functions. I think the part that rides up and down is different on top and bottom. I suppose you could use a self-tapping screw for the bottom hole after you pre-drill a pilot hole. Seems like it would work, but they would know best as they designed the system. I would definitely think both holes should have a screw even if the part they sent you only lines up with a single hole.

Unlikely since it wouldn't be very strong with only one bolt at each corner. Why not use the L shaped brackets that held the original sofa, and adapt them to hold the bed frame? That spacer would only work with the upper bunk. I really don't see any way to adapt the regular small L shaped bracket for the upper bunk to work with the lower arrangement. Or you could get the parts that mount the L shaped bracket to the chain for the upper bunk, and do the same to allow you use the L shaped bracket just like the upper bunk.
