Water Heater Help
We are out on our first outing with a 2023 Momentum 28g. Trying to make sure and use the hot water heater correctly. We have a panel switch for propane water heater and electric water heater. We are plug into a 30 amp service. I have read all the manuals and done some searching but have not found an answer. Everything says to make sure the water heater has water in it, how do I do that? This is the first time this trailer has been used. I went out to the water heater panel, and there is a drain plug that did not have a cap on it. I put the cap on it and turned on the switch for propane water heating and the propane fired. I waited a few minutes but never could feel any warm water. I’m worried I have missed an by pass vale or something, so I turned it off.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go outside, turn off the water, open the access hatch to the water heater and open the safety valve.
It is the one with the lever attached to it.
Water should spit out of it.
Close the lever and turn the water back on.
If water came out, the tank is filled.
If it didn’t, your bypass valves are in the wrong position.
You have three valves.
One on the cold supply, one on the hot supply and one on a pipe that connects the two (the bypass pipe).
The valves are open, when the handle is parallel to the pipe.
They are closed, when the handle is cross-wise to the pipe.
You want hot and cold parallel and the bypass cross-wise.Last edited by Najataagihe; 06-04-2023 at 10:32 AM.

Are there valves other than the panel for selecting like city water, dry camp etc?

No.
The only other valves are the bypass valves, which are right next to the water heater on the inside of the trailer.2023 Reflection 315RLTS

Yup, found them. They were behind the panel in the kitchen that gives access to the heater as well. Thanks for all the help.

Oops, yes I do have hot water now. The bypass valves inside the cabinet cover by the sink were set to bypass the hot water heater. Once they were opened, the hot water started working. One thing I learned while the water heater was bypassed, was that it shut off due to no water there. Keeping it from burning up. Took about 3 minutes for that to happen. Nice safety feature.
