The numbers of fuelly.com aren’t from a random internet search. I’ve been using the site since 2012 to track MPG on 8 gas cars I’ve owned plus compare what others are reporting on identical vehicles. It does the MPG calculation, just enter odometer and gallons added at that fill up.

The sample size for 67 GTO on the fuelly site was from 86 fill ups and 9,792 miles driven but only 4 owners reporting.

I’m familiar with the 60s era muscle cars. I had a 1966 automatic 442 with 440 ft lbs. it was one of the sleeper monster cars of the 60s but our current Tesla puts it to shame. More fun to drive, instant response, better handling on twistys and only thing it is missing is the exhaust growl.

Anyone can schedule a free demo drive online at Tesla.com. No pressure to buy and they give you a car to test on the local streets without an employee riding with you. Guaranteed you will be impressed. I have 2 friends that said they would never own an EV and they both changed their minds after a test drive.

Um. My Tesla has a range of 330 miles before requiring refilling
According to fuelly.com a ‘67 GTO owners report 9.67 MPG. With a 21 gallon fuel tank it has about a 200 mile range before running out of gas. Heck my F-450 does 11+ MPG towing 14,000 lbs RV.

We’ve come a long way in fuel efficiency.
According to your figures, on a 500 mile trip, the GTO would get you there a lot faster.... If both cars drive the speed limit.

According to the numbers above, Ford only sold twice as many F-Series trucks as Tesla sold Model Y.

If the Government is concerned about the weight of EVs, they should be equally concerned about the weight of the Ford F-Series trucks since there are twice as many sold.

The Model Y weighs around 4,555 lbs, depending on the model, while the F-150 weighs between 4,021 and 5,740 lbs. Additionally, the F-250 and F-350 weigh about the same at 5,677 to 7,538 lbs. Of course, the F-450 weighs a whopping 7,712 - 8,586 lbs.

Tesla Y sold 231k while the F series sols 653k this last year according to Car and Driver. Yes the heavy trucks do outweigh the EV's.

Comparing the number of F series sold to Tesla Ys sold isn’t a fair comparison.

    F series includes multiple models, F-150s, F-250s, F-350 SRWs, F-350DRWs, F-450 pickups, F450/F550 chassis cabs, F600/F650/F750 commercial trucks.

Tesla Model Y only includes one model. There are 3 configurations with different battery size and power output but same body.

I would love to see a break down by model of the ford trucks. There are significant differences between models.

F-series means F-150 versions only. Ford sells 650,000 F-150s annually. The other trucks are referred to as Super Duty and they add an additional 250,000, so total sales are always close to one million. I supplied them and those are the numbers we always used for forecasting. By the way, Ford makes more profit on the F250, and that accounts to like a 1/3 of their overall profit.

Motor Trend has given the Ford Lightning a nickname. They are calling it the range liar.

Which Cars Are the Most American?

"judged through five criteria: assembly location, parts content, engine origin, transmission origin and U.S. manufacturing workforce."

Ford F-150 Lightning (EV) is the top Ford but only #38 in the "2023 Cars.com American-Made Index: Which Cars Are the Most American?"
    https://www.cars.com/articles/2023-c...erican-467465/

Other than Tesla which takes position 1, 2, 3 & 4, Corvette at #19 is the highest on the list for American Manufactures.

It's a shame that so many good manufacturing jobs are from the Big 3 are being farmed out to outside the US.
