    Roof vent in kitchen area questions

    This past week our vent stopped opening and closing. The mechanisms that operates the cover has broken into several pieces. Is it repairable? Or does the entire vent need to be replaced? Thanks

    The gearbox breaking is a common issue. Junk plastic pieces, sadly (unless that's changed).

    Replacement can be had. Something like this one from eTrailer for the MaxxFan.

    It is an easy fix with the replacement gear box. Couple of screws. PSA: With any project I always take a pic of everything before I start. That way I can compare orientation of parts and things like that as the repair/replacement goes along.
