We have reservations in Moore Haven (Southwest side of Okeechobee) for November and December. Kind of a drive to a big town, but people there are very friendly and rates are great. We will probably move to a different location for January and February.

We stayed at Seasons in the Sun, Mims, FL last January. It's just south of Titusville on the Atlantic side. We only stayed for January and were on a waiting list. We're glad we got in. It's a great campground, parts of it have many trees, kind of reminds us of a Michigan campground. They have many amenities, you can stay as busy as you want to be. We are on their waiting list again for 2016, they prefer to fill up with 3-4 month rentals.

Looks like there will be a few GDs traveling about FL! Maybe some of us will cross paths. We're there Jan 1 through the end of April. Leaving home the day after Christmas and hoping we have no snow on the way down. We're looking forward to it.
This will be our longest time out and away, a big test for the 303 which I have no doubts it'll pass.
Dave, we started out looking into the Parks in the panhandle last year but our trailer went in for the last little bit of minor warranty service just before we left in early Feb. We had scheduled the service before we decided to go down.
We stayed with friends and family and explored lots of State and private Parks on each coast. FL state parks look nice, some looked challenging to back into the sites with narrow park roads. But getting full hook up is a tough game to play with their reservation system. Booking almost 4 months would have been a challenge.Marcy & Gary

We will be based out of a park near Lake Wales (with a couple of state park side trips) during December and January. Then we will work our way north from Fort Myers to the panhandle through February and March. Mostly state parks . . . and, yes . . . Cate booked all of these state park stays, 11 months in advance !

LC, you're right about it being tight, the last big rig site down by the laundry and bath house, I think it's #18, is at such an odd angle it takes forever to get backed into (ask me how I know).
We really love the area and you're close enough to Eglin AFB to use the BX and Commissary.

I know about 18. Not many sites easy to get a big rig in. It's a nice area.

We are wintering in Ft. Myers. Woodsmoke Resort on 41. An older park, but has all of the amenities. We are loving it right now.
