    D-Ring Connection?

How are the d-rings attached to the frame on the Momentum toy haulers? Are they all attached via self tapping screws or just certain years? I have emailed Grand Designs but have not heard back yet.

Mine are self tappers into frame cross members. I tie down a 2500 lb. Fiat Abarth to 4 of them with no problem.

Also, several are visible from the bottom on my 2015 385 so they could be switch out for bolts if one were concerned.

Thank you, just surprised that they did it this way. No big deal, just wanted to confirm so appreciate the information.

My 380TH also has self tapping which I like. I used the front center location and those hold to secure the wheel chock for my motorcycle to the floor. And I can remove it easily when we take the bike off and turn the garage into living area. Worked great for a year now.

Really surprised there screwed down and only 2500 LBS rated most are 5000 LBS and welded to frame ! I just bought a 2016 m class 348 and hope that its not going to be a issue tieing down a 1500 pound SXS!

I haven't looked to see how they're installed in my 385... I'm also very interested in what GD says regarding installing additional tie downs... I don't want to blow the warranty on the frame. I'm contemplating designing a tie down system that shouldn't require additional ties, but would like to know in the event I believe more would be necessary.

    D-Ring Connection?

One of the guys at the Rally in '14 had put a rail system in his 380TH. He was hauling Harley cruisers.

Tha was me, I installed E-Track both front and rear to tie down the bikes (for the record SWMBO rides a Honda). I just lagged the e-track into the floor, every third hole and every hole in the centers and the ends. The floor decking is 1" plywood. I have not had any issues, except wit the Grand Design Installed tie downs. One of them failed (did not pull out of the frame).

when we ordered our 388m i inquired about 5k tie downs, i was told they were not an option. I for one plan to add two 10k D rings to the rear of the garage, attached to the main frame rails, if that sets them to wide for the chain to clear the tires on my buggy, I'll engineer and install a cross member to the main frame rails and install the tie points were they need to be. For the front will add two recessed 5k d rings to an existing cross member.

i don't want my buggy ending up in the kitchen on an emergency stop.
