Foul odor inside coach and in basement
HELP!! We contacted service but they are not coming out until September 9th. We have a Reflection 323BHS and there is a burnt urine like smell that seems to be coming from the furnace vent. We almost thought maybe the sewer vent got cut or damaged but looking in the basement there seems to be no visible damage or traces of water laying around. I also had to have my husband tighten ALL the water lines in the Kitchen and bathroom as the BOTH leaked. Has anyone else had this issue?

You just reminded me of an issue I need to let my dealer know about also while I have it in for some minor end of warranty items. It seems after the black tank has been "used" for a few days, we can smell a foul odor in about the same spot, you have to be standing at the bottom of the steps, near the buffet in our 337. Seems to be the only place that we get the odor. I would be very curious to hear of any other experience with this also.

There's a vent pipe under the bathroom sink and kitchen sink with aav vent. Check there as the vent may have failed and letting order in. You can find them at Lowes and Home Depot. Common problem, inexpensive fix.

If that's what it is, don't forget to use Teflon tape when threading on the new one.

AAV is "air admittance valve" and it is supposed to let air into the drain system to prevent the sink trap from being siphoned out.
(I actually learned this on this forum, many months ago )
This valve has a very thin flapper that can easily get distorted and allow tank smells back into the coach.
Interesting that even though these are inexpensive and commonly available at Home Depot . . . the box says "for RV use only" . . . hmm?

My house has them under every sink. Only the toilets have through the roof venting. All the other plumbing venting is done with the AAV's. My entire home has cathedral ceilings, and very few "to the ceiling" walls, for routing and gathering of vent stacks, so the plumber used the AAV's. We were "open concept" 20 years before it was a thing....

We too were visited by Dr. Stink a few weeks ago after our daughter drained the kitchen sink with bath water from our grandson's rubber ducky tub. We knew right away what the problem might be thanks to learning from this forum last year. Replaced both this and the BR sink valves with new ones (wrapped with white thread tape) from local plumbing store about $7/piece.
Will check out over Labor Day but s/b be GTG.

Here's the original thread on the air admittance valves. If you dig down through the thread, you'll see pictures in post #4.

The valve you are looking for (at least at Home Depot) is Oatey ABS In-Line Vent PN 39012. I am sure there are other equivalents.
(Just checked my on-board spare parts bin for the PN )
