Furion Sound System & TV
I have the Furion Sound system and DirectTV. The TV is a Haier 32" that came with the Reflection. It has cords that appear to be hooked from the TV into the Furion. There is no function in the TV setup for external speakers. Any ideas??

I use a sound bar that has an HDMI feed thru built in. DirecTV RX to sound bar to TV. The sound bar pulls the audio out of the HDMI cable. If the TV is on cable or local antenna you have to use the TV speakers in this setup, but I'm usually either DirecTV or DVD (which is also connected thru the sound bar).

My Haier TV has a plug for a mini audio cord.
(On the first pic just below the video plugs.) Then my Furrion DV1200 has an AV in plug. I just bought a 6' cord from Amazon and now run all TV sound over the external speakers. Maybe a better way to do it, but it's all I could figure out. Good Luck,

I just bypassed the Furion and stock speakers altogether (pretty poor stuff, in my opinion). I installed a Polk Audio sound bar and wireless sub (sub is behind the fireplace) and use the auxiliary audio out from the TV to drive the sound bar. Dish receiver and DVD/blue ray player are in the cabinet to the left of the Furion unit and all cables (HDMI) run behind the entertainment center out of sight. Everything is controlled by a Logitech Harmony remote for ease of use.

Whenever you connect an external speaker with either the RCA jacks or the mini jack it cuts off the internal speakers on the Haier in our 303RLS. There is no abilty to switch to the internal speakers if you have any external speaker connected. The sound from the internal speakers is terrible since it projects downward into the tv mount area frame. The sound through the Furion isn't great either and you have to control the sound with a different remote. Most sound bars are too wide to open the cabinet doors on either side of the tv. I simply hooked up my Bose Mini using the mini jack and use the tv remote to control volume. Better sound and clarity, even if not outstanding. Yes, I have to turn it on separately, but it works until I find a sound bar that fits and offers better sound.

Sorry for the delayed response - today was a travel day.
Didn't even try - I replaced all the functions of the Furion unit and don't use it for anything. I just checked Logitech's on-line compatibility database and Furion doesn't even come up (and the Harmony remotes work with over 270,000 devices from over 6,000 brands... what does that tell you?...). Sorry.

Thanks Rob, maybe I'll check with Furion, as my TV is one of theirs' too (and I have a spare Harmony).
