Pick up 29RS in one week

We are picking up 29RS next week and are moving up from 26 foot travel trailer. We had out heart set on Rockwood 8289WS but went to local dealer and really were impressed with this model. It has plenty of room for wife and daughter and the weight and length are very manageable. We are really looking forward to it and can't wait to head to Bahia Honda in keys at end of October. We have trips there Oct, Nov, and Dec. Look forward to learning from all of the members.

You'll do fine with that setup! We tow with a gas F250 crew cab and it handles the 29RS great! Depending on terrain, you'll get between 8 to 11 miles per gallon.....for us the lower milage was when going thru mountains in Kentucky & Tennessee. We keep speed at 65 mph.

Might add too that we travel pretty heavy!

    MJC,

Just out of curiosity, what is the door label payload on your F250 with the gas engine ? I expect it is considerably better than those with the heavier diesel. We tow a little bit heavier coach, purposely pack light and travel a little slower than Bruce & Terry . . . but get about the same mileage range as they are getting. We tow with an F150 Max Payload Turbo Ecoboost. Payload 2300 lbs.

Just picked up today and the trailer drove smoothly. Definitely pulls much better than my travel trailer.

One problem, parked in driveway to load everything into trailer and when opening and closing slide there is banging and grinding, and it appears slide is not aligned . Now, my driveway has a slight pitch, and am not sure if this is happening due to not being level. Anyone that can chime in, I appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Mike

The camper should be as close to level as possible before operating the slides. Which slide makes the noise ?

The slide on driver side (opposite kitchen) is making the noise. It even grabbed rubber around window and pulled it off. I put it back on, but definitely not normal.

Don't know about the rubber. But, the driver side slide has a clutch that will release when it is sees too much torque and makes a clunking ratcheting sound. This normally happens when the slide hits the end-of-travel either all the way in or all the way out.
