    Washer/Dryer Factory Install question

We been looking at several GD Solitude Floor plans (365DEN, 366DEN, 375RE & 379FL). a couple of questions regarding GD Factory Washer & Dryer Installation.

    1. Does/can GD install a Stackable set of Washer & Dryer? Not a combination unit.

    2. Does/can GD install a drip pan under the washer? is this included in the install or extra?

    3. Does GD install the Dryer on top of the Washer or on the opposite side of the front king pin (on 365DEN, 366DEN & 375RE) to distribute the weight better? (This question does not apply to the 379FL floor plan. the W&D have to be stacked in the rear of the 379 FL.)

I spoke with Rob Groover from Grand Designs, GD does NOT install Washer & Dryers at their factory. You have to have them added from your RV dealership. So I could not verify the Drip pan installation. Good news, if you want a stackable W&D, the Solitudes can be setup for the Washer on the passenger side and the dryer on the Driver side of your rig over the King Pin. No need to stack them over the King Pin. You can also use a combination W&D. Your choice. From what I hear the Combo's are less efficient.

Ours was installed as a stackable, no drip pan by the dealer.

I don't know if it would be the same on the Solitude, but on our Momentum, the wall on the left side of the washing machine (toward the front of the trailer) is curved. When we tried to put a drip pan under it, the pan prevented the assembly from going far enough into the mounting space. They need to be a bit larger than the washing machine, and the square bottom was just large enough to hit the curved wall.

I put some notes and photos at http://www.momentumgunner.com/momentum_project.html

It's about halfway down that page in the section marked "Washer and Dryer Installation Notes:"

We went with a separate washer and dryer from Pinnacle. I have a list of products I know about for RV's at http://www.momentumgunner.com/rvappliances.html I'm sure there are others I haven't heard of yet.
