Drone limitations
I know this is late in coming (I'm behind on my reading) but before you buy a drone for something like this look carefully at the new rules and regulations. In Colorado in particular we do most of our camping in the mountains. Drones are now restricted to a 10,000' maximum altitude. This is hard coded into the controller. It's pretty comical to launch your drone and have it get just above head height and announce that it's reached max altitude.

Good info. I have never camped in Colorado,,yet. not too many places where this would limit us, so a drone purchase is still in the future. Had some unexpected major expenses come up, so it has been pushed back...They will probably be better and cheaper by next year anyway.
