    furnace won't run

We tried the furnace for the first time this weekend. The blower would come on and the furnace would try to light but would shut down after a few seconds.
Did not try too much as we wanted it only to take the chill off in the morning.
I just got home and have not looked too hard yet.
Just wondering if anyone had an issue and what they found.

We have had all kinds of problems with our furnace cycling several times before it will stay lit and it has been back to the dealer several times while they and Attwood have tried to come up with a solution. Cleaning, new flame sensor, new circuit board. The latest attempt involved putting a separate duct into the bedroom. Haven't tried it yet because we haven't had cool enough weather but are keeping our fingers crossed.

Both tanks full. Filled before we left. No problem with refrig or hot water heater on gas.

Here is the issue I had with my water heater. It would try and light but acted like no LP. After digging around I found there was oil in the supply line from what appears to be left behind from cutting and tapping the iron pipe that supplies the gas. I unhooked the gas line at its lowest lever and about 2 tablespoons of oil came out. It was enough to hold back the gas. Hooked the line back up and the heater fired right up.

Have you checked to see if the gas line valve is in the On position? Or, as the freds say, there could be a gas line obstruction. If those are ok, there is a flame detector that acts as a safety. When clean and properly positioned the tip sits inside the burner flame. If there's no flame it shuts down the burner. In your case it may be defective, improperly positioned, or slightly dirty. It's not easy to get to in these campers, might be a job for your dealer especially if you're under warranty.

On the assumption that you (or the dealer) never had the furnace running before : since you stated that you didn't try too hard, it could be simply that the propane hasn't made it thru the line yet. I had my tanks off the trailer where I store, and when I headed out a couple weekends ago the fridge didn't work on propane (which I discovered 5 hours later) and it turned out that it was just a matter of the propane working thru the line. Maybe you will be that lucky.

got the unit to run a short period of time before it shut off. did not sound quite right as it sounds like it if vibrating and not running smoothly. have not spent too much time troubleshooting.

Update on our furnace. Finally had some over night temps in the 5 degree C (40F) range and it fired up without a hitch the past two mornings. Think maybe they finally got it.
