A little nervous about something going wrong on 375RE

    Guys,

I researched the hell out all 5th wheels out there and decided on the Grand Design. I know this forum provides opportunities for exchange of ideas and solutions but there are more problems than I thought that folks are having. I am sure I am being a nervous nelly but after investing the amount of money we all did I just expected that these types of things that people are posting would be happening, is this normal in other brands or worse in other brands?

Keep in mind you will always hear about a lot more "problems" than "my refrigerator is working fine today"

I find myself getting in the defensive mode a lot waiting for something to break cuz we hear all the bad, but so far nothing I haven't been able to fix myself or with parts from GD.

My last 3 trailers had many more fit and finish issues than my current GD and a lot of the problems reported (maybe most) are related to equipment from vendors which supply to all brands of trailers so they probably all have those same issues.

So to answer your question... as I see it, you will have fewer fit and finish problems with GD. And probably the same amount of supplier issues with any brand.

Good luck to you N. Nelly!

Nelly, thanks so much. You are right in my business I hear about 95% bad and 5% good emails. I know we have a great product, just many more would publish the great things about their 5vr

I totally agree! As with the Facebook page you rarely hear the good things-just all the stuff people complain about! We have had ours for two years and has performed almost flawlessly. We wintered all last year in FL and couldn't have been happier. After reading all the issues and lack of support from the other manufacturers out there, I can tell you we wouldn't be spending our hard earned $$$$ anywhere else.
Again, keep in mind you are usually always only going to hear the bad stuff!!

    Teamam,
If it helps the only issue we had with ours was the frig lower left hand side broke. Just a plastic clip other than that no other issues with first camping experience. The other new fifth wheel we bought in July wont give name but sounds like limestone except needs a Key not a lime. (had to sorry) the first 3 camping trips with that we had over 10 major fixes and 20 other issues. Relax and enjoy your Solitude you chose wisely.

The_Mit_375RE Thx so much starting to relax now and just try to enjoy teh trip this weekend. We too had a LIME STONE but was a travel trailer. Worked fine until we were close to trading in and then the problems started especially the AC and Fridge.

Well ours was a brand new one and issues were:
Slides stopped working at camp site wouldn't pull in
When we first got it and closed up during camping the slide didn't stop and ran into island and damaged it. (WTH??)
    Hydraulic jacks stopped working
Frig stopped working in middle of camping week
A/C didn't work barley kept trailer cool
TV fell in master on first trip camping.
1/2 of the electrical outlets didn't work.
IT goes on and on. It was a Lemonstone thank God we got out of it and into a Solitude. You will love the 375RE we are taking it out again this weekend as well.

    Cheers!

No worries anymore on my side. I was happy to see that one go, heck I would have burned it if they didn't take it back. It was stressful and I was worried after all of that when we got the Solitude but no issues 375RE is a great 5th wheel. At first camping trip in it at Labor day a lot of people came up to our site asking questions about it, and wanting to see it. My brother in law was getting annoyed at all the attention ours got and his brand new toy hauler other brand got nothing.
