Will I need air bag leveling assist?
I am a newbie to 5th-wheel towing. My 5th wheel will not arrive until May or June. I am trying to determine if the factory leaf springs are adequate for loaded-level driving or if I will need to install air bag leveling assist. My truck is the 2024 Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.6 Duramax Diesel max tow package. The door sticker shows 3124 pounds cargo capacity. I will be coupling with a ball and the Gen-Y Executive King Pin Box. My 5th wheel is the 2024 Reflection 337RLS with an advertised hitch weight of 2185 pounds. I expect to be close to the max cargo after adding humans - fuel- and "RV stuff". Does anybody have a similar setup? Can you advise from your experience, did you have to install airbags for leveling assistance?

You are in a problem area.
You should expect 2821 lb pin weight when the trailer is loaded. Leaving you 302 lbs for the weight of your hitch, the people riding in the truck and anything you put in the truck.John & Kathy

I will see @jkwilson 's 2,821 and bid 3,000. That's what our Reflection 337 put on the pin when loaded. Advertised hitch/pin weights are as the trailer rolls off the line with nothing on board (no propane, batteries, fluids, etc.). Unfortunately, air bags or any other aftermarket product or modification does not affect or increase the truck's payload capacity. Read through the thread below from beginning to end:

PSA...too common for folks with a 3/4 ton truck and a diesel engine. Not much payload left to justify the diesel engine...
