Grand Design Aim 15BH brought home today

After flying to Houston, renting a Hertz F150 and completing two days of driving, I arrived home in Arvada, CO this afternoon with the new toy.

Yes! 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 crew with 6.6 liter gas. It’s seems like a little overkill but after towing with the rental, I’m looking forward to trying it with the 2500. It was all the F150 wanted in the wind across Texas.

Much better to have a tow vehicle with overkill!
Enjoy the new RV and truck!

    Congrats on the new trailer

Is this your first time towing a high wall trailer?

An F150 should not of had any issue at all towing such a lightweight smaller trailer

I can assume the trailer was empty and perhaps your tongue weight is way to light which made the ride poor. Single axle trailers tend to not tow as smooth as tandems as well. You likely just had a ball hitch as well

Don’t assume a bigger truck will fix the uncomfortable towing you experienced

Make sure the weights are good and you have a decent hitch

Welcome and congratulations! In all my years of RVing, I've never heard anyone say they had too much truck (though those with Volvos and Freightliner Business Chassis get teased about it).

Now that you have your RV, you can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

Forum Actions (on menu bar) -> Edit Profile -> Edit Signature (under My Settings on the left)

Note: you'll need to have a paid subscription to add an image to your signature.
