Echo the engine brake. It a lot of areas that does enough to slow the truck and rig down without getting on the brakes. We had an 2015 Ram 2500 with CTD that pulled a Jayco 32BHS, the diesel towed and slowed like a dream.

1 second the notion that RAM does NOT have poor reliability. I am on my 3rd RAM (2nd CTD) and have absolutely zero reliability issues. If one is referring to an occasional breakdown then describe the frequency. I have in excess of 160K miles on three RAM's, no roadside breakdowns, and am as happy today as the first trip home with my RAM. I have pulled 3 different TT in excess of 75K miles and only once had a roadside issue, that happened to be a flat tire . . . saved by a reliable TPMS.
My opinion RAM is as reliable as the rest.

Thanks to everyone for their replies to this post. I am now the owner of a 2022 Ram 2500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4x4 with the 6.4L Hemi. First tow will be dragging our 22MLE from the desert floor up to our home in Pinetop (7,200ft)!

Congrats. You should have zero issues towing that TT.

I haven't driven a Dodge/Chrysler/Ram product in years and would appreciate any feedback on reliability and possible fuel economy (31-gal. fuel tank) towing a 7,000 lb. Travel Trailer.

    Thanks for your input!
Hey PP, I have a 2019 Ram 2500 with the HEMI and I pull my GD Reflection 150 5ver with it all the time. I've been out west in the mountains from NC to AZ then up to Montana over to WI. Over 7,000 miles on that trip. Ram pulls like a beast. We go to AZ and WI every year to visit family. Sure RPMs are around 4,000 or more going up mountains but the Ram handles my 10,000lb 5ver with no problem. Just couldn't justify the extra diesel engine cost and fuel price. I get around 18MPG without towing and between 8.5 with head winds to 10.5 level towing. Most times don't feel 5ver behind me.
