    Neither.....lol

Seriously, to the OP, Look and see what capability you need to pull the trailer safely. Get a list of which trucks that fit the requirement and go drive them. Buy the one you can get the best deal on.

From a purely negative subjective point of view...mine...
1/ The Aisin in HD Dodges has poor low speed tuning. IE when you are going under 10mph it can be a little slow getting into the right gear
2/ The Ford Diesels still use a CP4 pump. Is this overblown? Maybe..but the other two stopped using them.
3/ The General Motors trucks...haven't heard of any mechanical problems...I just don't like the front end styling
    Good luck in your search.

Once you buy a truck, start a 'what's the best oil for my truck' thread...lol

Now I'm not brand loyal-I've had trucks by all three manufacturers. My memory is not what it used to be, but I can't recollect seeing a post here of someone saying their Ford exploded due to the CP4. I don't visit the Ford forums to often anymore, so can't speak to weather it is a big issue or not there.
Do I wish Ford would go away from the CP4-yes, but I believe they have a lot more trucks on the road than GM or Ram, & I don't hear about an inordinate amount of Fords grenading.
With the slow pace of the Ram roll out, or folks that don't want to do the recall, I haven't heard of Rams exploding either.
Maybe it's just me not buying into all the hysteria over these pumps.
I see too many Fords out there for sale with 100-130,000 miles on them going for stupid money-& they still run.
    JMHO
That being said, I do have a Ford extended warranty on mine for the next 4 years that covers everything on the fuel system. That will take me out to 90-100,000 miles.

    No hate.
I have never seen a motor that did not need a fuel pump replaced at some point in it's life. Usually, a few bucks an afternoon and some beers will fix it right up.
Due to the design of the CP4 when it fails it sends pieces of metal thru the entire fuel system trashing it. You will need a new fuel pump. injectors lines, fuel tank etc.... Some have elected to "clean the tank rather than replace it. Probably a wash money wise as the labor to do so will be more than a new tank, and if you do not get it 100% clean, it will cause another failure
If you are dead set on a CP 4 truck, look into the disaster prevention kits. And a premptive scheduled replacement is probably a great idea as well.

I was on the ford forum the other day and asked about how the cp4 is doing now. From the sounds of it there are still a few complaints but not so many. No more than you would hear from any other vehicle. There will always be some. Sounds lie most people say stay with name brand filters and change them when they should be changed and there should not be a problem.

I've owned Fords in the way back past and Rams since 2012 and if I bought again I'd go GM for the front suspension. I rode in my sons Chev 2500 and couldn't beleive how smooth it was.

I say drive them all and buy the one you like best. They all have their pros and cons. Just make sure you buy one big enough the first time.

Amazing what moving on from conestoga wagon tech will do for the ride...
