I've had/used two Hydrastar actuators and neither had a delay of more than 0.5 to 1 second.

Just ask those that have used both the Hydrastar and the Brakerite.

So far you have presented no data - only opinion suggesting I ask others for their opinions.

I have a Momentum with 7K axles and did the disc brake conversion by Hydrastar. Works great.

I have a Momentum with the factory Hydrastar system, and have only experienced a delay of less than a second. If they are saying up to a four second delay, that would tell me they need to bleed the hydraulic system as there is probably air in the system.

I looked at the website, and could not find where they claimed the up to 4 second delay, I would also love to see the documentation to prove that.

Did you mean to say "of more than a second?"

I intend on installing IS as I don't want to go through this every year.
We found out that our rear axle was loose when we took the RV to MorRyde for IS. We let GDRV know about it. Shortly after, there was a recall for this.

BTW: A big yes to 8K and disc brakes. I have yet to meet a fulltime RVer whose rig is not overweight.....

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated. Lots was learned.

We contacted GD customer service and they recommend going with the Independent Suspension,, and don't look back.
So that's the way we will roll.

These big toy haulers should come with HD suspension and disc brakes.
Owning it has been a real education, and lots of disappointment.

We have a 2021 GD Momentum 397TH with 8k axles and disc breaks, love the disc breaks. We've heard there are a lot of issues with the wet bolts shearing off. We had two of ours break. Lucky for us, one broke in Elkhart and bent the hangar and we were able to bring our RV to Lippert for repair, GD did not help us at all. The other bolt broke in Colorado and I was able to replace it myself.

We are actually heading to Henderson's Lineup in Grants Pass, OR right now to get an upgraded suspension. We ended up going with the RoadMaster suspension and not the Morryde suspension partially due to cost and the fact that there are only three centers certified to install the Morryde system in the whole US and that worried us when it comes time for maintenance.
