IMO, if you need a tripod to support the pin, you need to take it back to the dealer and get the problem fixed. Tripods are more trouble than they're worth. BTDT.

A tripod will help to make the trailer more stable when parked so people moving around inside won’t make it rock or wobble as much. If you have a washer in the front a Tripod makes a BIG difference in your comfort during the spin cycle.

Tripods have minimal effect on fifth wheels with dampened pin boxes such as the MORryde pin box on your Solitude. We don't use anything other than the six-point leveling system. It's a recreational vehicle - not a house on a foundation - and we accept that there is some movement when the washer is in spin cycle. Otherwise, we don't notice any movement.

A 6-point leveling system will make it pretty solid, and if you need it more solid than that, spend the money on JT-Strongarms, or the like rather than a tripod. Less to have to stow, and mess with.

Advice folks have given me for improving the stability of the rig with 6 point hydraulic leveling, is keep the jack extension short, by using 6x6 wood blocks or andersen buckets (I'm cheap, and use the former).
On my 377, and to some extent on the 310, the back of the trailer is pretty long past the last set of jacks - adding a stabilizer like these to the rear corners of the frame can reduce bounce. A fella with a 390RK said he used them to reduce bounce with his rear kitchen model. I have not tried this yet, but had these from the last trailer to stabilize a "superslide".

Our trailer also has a pretty good distance from the rear jack to the end, and it can get a little bouncy. We bought the Valterra Stabilizer. While it may look a little cheesy, it does one heck of a job. Lightweight, small package to store, and easy to set up. Great bang-for-the-buck. IMO anyway.

Also have the valterra stabilizer and it is very obvious when the camper settles and the stabilizer isn’t making proper contact anymore. Really helps cut down vibrations and shaking.

That Valterra unit looks really nice - not just vertical bracing, but should stop some side-to-side movement along its axis.

Another vote for the Valterra Stabilizer. I drilled a couple more holes to provide some finer adjustment capability for the push buttons. It works great.
Just for info, the Amazon pictures aren't correct. Except for one, they show a single, nonadjustable leg for the angled legs. The legs are a two piece sleeve with a push button adjustment to get the correct length for each RV.Last edited by Tom Traveler; 02-28-2024 at 07:13 PM.
