Came across a picture of my parents camper from the 80's and his new side topper he installed. The man was ahead of his time -
Something that hit me in 15+ years of RV travel they had their share of flats on the two fifth wheels but never broke a spring or wore out the spring bushings. Yet today it seems the norm. What changed? We even have wet bolts now. I think it is
safe to say he didn't back the day. All I recall him doing is greasing the wheel bearings every couple of years. Maybe the trailers were just over-built back then and could take more road punishment. We know there were no shock absorbing pin boxes either.
