    brakes

i have a 2022 Solitude 380FL 41.5FT,we ordered this rig to our specs
got JULY21, i would say 10-15 trips max , all here in Northern Calif,
so with that said, my Ram 3500 ordered that got at same time now has 36K
so maybe 10k miles on rig max, took in this last week for first service because
of no real issues, now they said it needs new brakes- what are you kidding me
i changed my share of brakes, 10k miles, thats it? if so they sure using cheap
crap, too only last this long,
so i a nutshell replacing brakes under 10 k miles, sounds like a screw job to me
if so what a 100k piece of crap!!

Scope out what they're doing, don't take anything at face value. Brakes bad in 10,000 miles is highly unlikely. Unless you have a bad controller, or the like. Some places, unfortunately, will not necessarily treat you fairly. Come back with the exact explanation they give for why it needs new brakes. Sounds phony to me.

They tow these things from the factory in Indiana. Drivers are contract workers-use their own trucks. They pretty much use the trailer brakes exclusively.
Bought mine out of Redding Ca., took it on two trips one to AZ the other to southern Oregon. When I got home went to pack bearings & the brakes in two drums fell out on the floor in pieces, the other two were pretty much worn out..

Odds are it’s either a shake-down by the dealer or someone has used a grease gun on the hubs and over-greased the. Trailer brake shoes are much thinner than cars, but even then something else usually goes wrong before the shoes wear out.

I would think it is entirely possible to wear out brakes in 10,000 miles.

Not knowing how you have them set, if they were adjusted correctly, etc.....the 380 is no lightweight.

You could always ask for the brake lining readings to see where they are at.

Also, assuming you did not opt for the disc brake option.....
