ID:	3214So take a look at the attached pic of an EMS plug in that protects against both low voltage and high voltage. It stickers for $425 and I guess I wonder from everyone's experiences, do I really need to spend the money to have this protection?

Is high/low voltage that frequent of a problem that I'll be glad I bought one? Thoughts?

    Thanks all!!

I've had mine shut down in a couple of parks from low voltage. Also had one miswired that it protected me from.

It only takes one time of saving your equipment to pay for itself. Insurance well worth the money.

It is probably one of the wisest investments we've made. We've kept track of the issues it's found, and we were surprised at how often it caught problems and protected us:

    Incorrectly wired pedestal - 1
    High voltage - 2
    High frequency - 3
    Low voltage - 6

Any one of those conditions could have damaged the electronics in our rig such as the A/C, TV, satellite receiver, etc.

It doesn't matter whether you purchase the hard wired version or the plug in version. That's just a matter of preference or convenience. But I'd highly recommend purchasing one or the other.

Well said everyone. I too was once a doubter, but after hearing all of the stories on this forum, I dove in the pool and bought one.
