Like others here our water heater control will become active if it senses a change in water pressure whether it is from the hot or cold. We have never had the water heater fire up the burner when it is the result of running the cold water and the control will go back into standby once the pressure normalizes.

Our 2022 260RD did the same thing. The hot water panel lights up when you flush. I just ran back to test to see if I can hear the hot water heater light off, but I don't think there's enough water flow to trigger that regardless. When a couple of forum responses indicated "that doesn't sound right" we took it to the repair shop. They said it was a bad check valve, and Grand Design replaced the water heater under warranty. Which was great because we got one of the updated models that has the recirculating feature to prevent freeze damage during use in cold weather. Except the new heater continues to do the same thing so I quit caring.
