    2016 Reflection 27RL/2015 F250

We sold a 1/2 ton truck and a 24 foot bumper pull trailer to take the next step in this RV adventure. Early last week, we closed on a 2016 Reflection RL. We were looking for the lightest 3 slide fifth we could find and the 27RL fit the bill for our needs. I have been pounding the pavement for about a month trying to find a low mileage, late model 3/4 ton diesel truck and I quickly learned that in Western Colorado those trucks were hard to find. I kept running into trucks that were pretty rough or high mileage. The cleaner, low mileage trucks that I did find were priced close to the price of a new one so we found a 2015 sitting on a dealer's lot quickly being surrounded by 2016's. Got a good deal on a 2015 F250 XLT, shortbed, crewcab, 6.7L diesel. We are adding running boards to the truck so we won't pick it up until this coming week and the fifth is still sitting on the dealer's lot. We'll post some pics when we take possession of all of the above!

Looking forward to hitting the road!

Sounds like you got a good deal on a truck perfectly matched to tow your new camper...assuming you got a slider hitch for the short bed??

Great combo there - I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's not just western Colorado where low-mileage diesel trucks in good shape are hard to come by. We found the same to be true in Georgia and South Carolina when we were shopping - ended up doing just what you did. I don't know the length of what you're calling a short bed on an F250, but we have the 6'6" bed on a crew cab 2500HD and I can't turn sharply enough going forward to get the front cap anywhere close to the cab. Can do about 85 degrees backing up without getting into the danger zone (337RLS, but probably not too different).

Don't know how much RV expierience you have so I'll apologize upfront if you already know this. Goggle and download a RV PDI inspection sheet to have when you pick up the 27RL. Plan on 2-3 hours to go over every square inch of the unit BEFORE signing any papers or handing over any checks. I can let you know the issues we found on our 27RL during our PDI and what to look for if you want that info. A through PDI can save you many headaches as the dealer is generally more willing to repair things fast as he wants that check. After the sale you're just another RV'er needing warranty service that many dealers don't want to deal with.
