New members who don’t follow up on their posts!!!
Is it me or are there a lot of new people on here who ask random questions and then never actually follow up with any of it? Maybe it’s just me. I’m young and cranky.

I haven't really noticed it that much here, but it's a common occurrence on any forum.

Sometimes it takes a little prodding to get follow up from the OP. But it does happen and it would be nice to get a follow up even if it is a quick thanks for the help.
But part of forum life is the one and done crowd that post and never even return to see if there is a replyMarcy & Gary

It feels the same as when we post free stuff on places like Facebook Marketplace, and then get an immediate response that they want it, then crickets after you respond when they can pickup.

Ya, it can be irritating. (maybe that is too harsh a word?) In particular I find it odd when you go to the bother of trying to comprehend the persons problem and then offer some hopefully useful ideas...they don't let people know if it fixed the problem or not. Maybe it did and they are off camping happily...but it would increase the knowledge base here if they posted up what the fix was. like "It's all good now...it was the piston return spring".

I'm old and cranky and at times it bothers me - especially the "Help I have a problem -stuck by side of road or somewhere" posts and you never hear back if they solved the problem or what the solution was, Its good to know somethings especially on the newer units with thier fancy electronics.

Bothers me too. People take the time to try to help and no follow-up. Like Scott said, if they would follow-up what the solution was, helps the next person. On here, I have to scroll back up to see who the OP was and scroll back through the responses to see if they did. Ghosting your own post happens way more on the Facebook where there are tons of comments and none by the OP. At least on the Facebook, it says "author" by the person so easy to find.

I've seen the mentioned 1 and done on posting on a problem they have.
Also seen it where specific questions are asked by helpful people trying to nail down the problem situation and the OP does not answer the questions or will answer 1 question out of 3 or 4.2021 Solitude S Class 3540GK
