What are you using to tow the smaller 5ers?

New to this forum (thanks for having me) and we are looking at the smaller Reflections 27/29 and 303. Can anybody tell me what they are using as a tow vehicle for these models? I 've read some posts about front end clearance issues with Ram trucks..is this correct?

    Hi KJcachers,

There is a whole lot of info on this forum about your question. Use the search tool in the upper right corner on key words.
The Rams sit high like you already know. Many will tell you that you can't have too big a diesel truck for any 5th wheel. I think my heavy duty payload F150 does a respectable job with our 303. Search away . . . you have a lot of reading to do .

    Hi KJcachers,

I have a Ram 3500 for the tow vehicle.
Yes, it's more than enough capacity for the Reflection 27RL, but you can't have too much truck
The Reflection is our touring trailer. Our full-time trailer is a Redwood 36RL so the 1-ton is needed for that.

The Ram's bed is 6' 4" which can be a little tight on extreme angles, so a slider hitch is a decent precaution.

    Cheers ... Peter

We were using our 1/2 T GMC to pull our 303, just fine. Traded off the 303 and pulling a 320x now. Will pull the 320X with the powerstroke.

We have a 2016 Reflection 303RLS and tow it with a 2014 Ram 2500 4X4 crew cab. Has a 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel and 6'4" bed. Purchased a SuperGlide hitch and so glad we did. Moved the 5th wheel to a new storage location last week and had to make some very sharp turns while backing it in, which put the front of the 5'er extremely close to the back of the cab. Without the slider hitch I would not have been able to do that.

I am pulling 2016 29 rs with 2015 f250 gas engine. I am using curt slider hitch. It pulls just fine but gas mileage is about 9 while pulling.

Just saw your post now. I am pulling a 29RS with a 2500 Ram 6.4 L V8. Husky 16K hitch. Pulls great. No clearance problems/issues.
