I found that $475 price, but the "fine print" says that this is the exterior unit only.

Worse yet the shipping was $121! That's BS.

Could you replace the 13500 btu with the 15000 btu one and gain some Xtra cooling? Look like the rough opening required is the same?

Do you notice anything different in these photo`s? took that loud, noisy OH don`t get me started again...took off the Dometic and put the NEW Atwood 15k with heat pump on today. Works perfect ! and hardly any noise ...peace and quiet. Now I'm going to use the Dometic for what it was made for..A boat anchor

Really is hard to believe, but in my new reflection 29rs you can't hear the tv with the a/c on. My 2004 TT with the atwood blows quiet cold air. Go figure.

Amazing for a manufacture who call`s them a premier travel trailer builder they would put that loud and very noisy A/C unit on their product. We were out last weekend and it was ssssooooo nice with having the heat option and we even had to turn the A/C on and it was such a pleasure to sit inside and watch a movie and just have a quiet conversation. My wife and are are so happy with our Atwood on the roof vs the boat anchor (Dometic) that was there.

How did I miss this post over a month ago. Okay, so you replaced the Dometic. Our 337 came with the Atwood in the main cabin (OMG we love this unit) but a Dometic (OMG we hate this unit) in the B/R. The B/R POS is the one I would like to replace. I assume you had to replace the existing Dometic Interior Ceiling Assembly?

The duct unit I put in that replaced the POS Dometic I needed a kit for the Atwood that included a new thermostat and interior celing grill. The change over was very easy took less than 2 hours. Worth every minute of my time to do it. You also need a wiring pigtail kit to wire the new stat and connect to the unit that does not come with the celing kit. The non ducted unit Atwood makes you also need a celing kit that has the thermostat and everything in that unit. We love our Atwood but more so we love the fact it's so quiet inside and no screaming or headaches from listening to the Dometic. I think the Dometic could be used for either a boat anchor or land fill ! What`s even more disappointing is my spec sheet that came with the camper said I had a Atwood A/C unit and it even had the model and serial number of what was supposed to be on the roof but there was NO Atwood on the roof it was the boat anchor(Dometic) so I called Grand Design to talk to service manager about it figuring they WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING and replace it with what I thought I got, instead I was recited Grand Design reserves the right to make changes in production?? I was not asking him about production I was asking why I thought I got one thing and had documentation of it and got another. Pretty bad when you buy 2 of these trailers in 1 year and over 100k later and get this kind of treatment. I was not expecting this from a premier builder and such a response from a manager of the company. I can say I love Janice I needed her help in another matter and she was awesome and helped me out...the company better never let her quit or leave she does a great job. The answer is simple we ( the travel trailer industry ) got to be fat cat`s because the travel trailer business is so good and we (the manufacture) can control the market and the customer ...oh but how they forget when it got bad and closed plants let employees go because no one was buying their junk that they were putting out into the market and lousy customer service they gave to the customer. Ok enough ....I highly recommend the Atwood to be the best choice of A/C and A/C and heat combo in the market and if you would install one of these units you will understand what I am talking about.
