Shower Skylight Help

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has had to open up the skylight from inside yet? I have a huge fly that got between the inside plastic and the outside dome. The inside piece appears to be very poorly attached to the frame and somehow that monster fly pushed his way in. It appears the frame will come down very easily with only 7 screws holding it up but I am wondering what I will find when I drop it. Is there something special under there that I should purchase in advance like plumbers putty or double sided tape or something? I know it's sealed well from the roof so I'm not worried about that.

Thanks for any info. I will take some pictures and let folks know what I find if I don't getting any feedback here.

I believe that it is only the screws that are holding the inside plastic on. You should be able to just unscrew it.
Do support the opposite side when you are on the last screw, so that it doesn't drop and crack the plastic.

I had mine down in my last trailer and it was basically a beauty ring/insert (like around the vents) with a piece of plastic on top. Nothing special. It looked similar if not identical to the GD one we have now.
