50-amp Female to 30-amp Male Electrical Adapter: what should I purchase?

What should I look for in purchasing a 50-amp Female to 30-amp Male electrical adapter? I keep reading about melted dogbones and would like to buy the best quality possible.

    Thanks,

Good quality wiring, and tight fitting plugs. But no guarantee that they won't loosen up over time. You just need to check them frequently for scorch marks and loosening plugs. I had a dogbone fail, and had the plug from my trailer plug to the EMS melt down, and that was never unplugged.

I review products for Amazon and have personally reviewed dozens of different RV power adaptors. One thing that quickly becomes apparent is that most are identical with different names on them.

I would make sure that it is either UL or ETL listed. Some claim to be ETL “tested” but that is not the same. To be listed by either organization, the product must be clearly stamped with their logo. The other thing I look for is ergonomic plugs. I have arthritis in my hands and need a plug (especially on the 50A side) that has good size handles where I can get two or three fingers in. Also, be sure that it clearly states “pure copper wire”.

Below is a link to one that I liked because it has transparent plugs so any hot spots are easily recognized before it reaches meltdown temperatures.
