    Coleman or Dometic

I know I am asking for a number of opinions, like ford vs chevy but:
Last year a succesful repair, lost all freon as the factory crimped port blew.
lots of use and successful for the past year until yesterday! UGHHHH!!!
Good thing tonight is going to be cold where we are headed.
but the question, since in my 22 plus years of RVing, we never replaced one.
Ours is the 337RLS fifth wheel, Sept 2019 so almost 5 years, lots of them alot of non stop use.
So thinking I will just go back with the existing Coleman, but just thought I would see about thoughts on Dometic.
We have had both and never an issue.
    Thoughts, etc. I appreciate it.
Gonna wait until home in a week to replace so time isn't important.
That's what I am getting for Fathers Day!!! WHOO HOOO!!!
thanks to all and to all a great day!!!

While I've only had Colemans so I can't comment on Dometic, I would be inclined to stay with the Coleman since the installation could be easier when replacing your old unit.

Iíve only had Dometic until this camper (Furrion) and didnít have any problems with them.
That said, it would probably be easier to go with what was originally installed.

Like others - I would be looking at an exact replacement.

FWIW, we just had our Coleman die on us last fall. We replaced it with another Coleman. It was $650 for a 15,000 BTU unit, and from what I've seen, the Dometic are higher, but haven't looked at all models/sellers.

And since we were having it done, we figured a direct replacement was the easiest way to go.

For me... having the old one removed and the new one installed would be the best gift ever!

Do agree with other views on staying with Coleman replacement.
