black tank still shows full even though the tank is clean?

Hi all, so yesterday I had a septic guy come out and clear out my black tank since I was getting close to full. I never bothered to look down the toilet and figured it was full. Well they guy cleared my tank and told me it wasn't that much. I also cleaned the tank using the black tank flush. I was able to look down the toilet while doing the black tank flush and was able to see the black plastic on the bottom. Now today I noticed my levels haven't really changed and it's still showing 2/3 full. Where's to meter in the tank? I'd like to point a water hose and spray it hoping it's just stuck or something. This is for a 2016 313rlts

Unfortunately this happens often. A few pieces of Toilet Paper gets hung up on the sensor, and it gives us a false reading.
If you can see the bottom, you can buy one of the spray wands that you stick in through the toilet, and it sprays water out at a 90˚ from the tip.

Interesting. ...we are a baby wipe family but use a waste bin for the wipes. So the culprit must be a "blockage" of sorts. I will say the first tank was nor filled the right way. I didn't know you had to fill the bowl more when going 2 to help flush the waste. We now "prime" the toilet after every use.

Yeah, you definitely need water, plus the chemical to help break down the solids. There is a sensor cleaner also, but I don't know if it really works.
If you find out where the sensors are on your tank, one of those wands could possibly clean them. Be careful not to blast them too hard.

The place I bought it from gave me an rv starter kit and it came with those blue packs that breakdown and odorize the tank. I put 2 in before use and another 2 after I dumped the tank. Also just recently mastered how to flush without letting the smells escape.

I have only used three different deodorizer/digesters. You might try different ones to see which brand you like, or what works best.

When we are on the road, and the black tank is half full, I have added ice to the tank. In hopes that the ice would scrape the sensors clean. Not sure if it really worked...

We add about a 1/2 cup of Murphy'sy soap to 10-15 gallons of water in both the grey and black tanks before hitting the road. It helps wash while driving and we've been using this process over the last 10 years and it seems to work. Remember water is your friend especially with the black tank and it's your oder filter so never allow the tanks or the toilet bowl to become dry or empty.

We use Therford products, liquid form.

Don't forget the time honored trick of filling the black tank with 10 gallons of water (up to 1/3 full) then drop about 8-10 pounds of ice down the toilet just before driving off with the rig in tow. The ice rubs against the sensors as you drive knocking off any remaining debris and conveniently melting to be dumped at your next stop.

Sensors not accurately showing the true level of the waste tanks is called WAD - Working As Designed.

If you haven't already been doing this with the black tank, once it's emptied and ready for reuse - add several gallons of water first. Big mistake some RV'ers make is to not do this. Results in plugged tanks and big problems.
