Question Question: how do we switch the refrigerator to run on propane?

We are new Reflection owners and wanted to run the fridge on gas while in storage for a few weeks before our next trip. How do we do that? Do the batteries need to be on as well?
    Many thanks for your advice.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new camper!

The fridge needs 12V DC power for the control circuit whether on propane or 120V AC supply. Doubt that your battery power will last very long in storage without recharging.

Yes, you will need battery turned on to make the ignitor work. It might help if you post refrigerator brand and model. On ours there is a button to switch from 3 different modes. Yours may have a switch that slides to automatic.

Second the battery life being just a few days. You will need to be connected to an electrical outlet for you to run your refrigerator for more than 2-3 days on propane. The most I could ever get out of any refrigerator on battery and propane alone was 3 day, then the battery was too low to continue to power the refrigerator 12v circuits. Makes no difference what refrig/trailer. Now if you have dual batteries, or AGM type, different story.
