GFCI breakers are VERY sensitive. And they have to be, that's their general purpose. A lot of time with them, it's an appliance that's failing, but hasn't failed that has something go to ground and it trips. Ok, I now return you to your regularly scheduled post.

The first I replaced after it was legitimately tripped 2x was so sensitive that waving your hand in front of a connected outlet would trigger it.

What causes the breakers in an RV to become weak in a short time is directly related to Ohm's Law. When the voltage in the battery gets low, and something like the hydraulic pump turns on, the amperage jumps causing the breaker to trip.

This issue presented itself to me yesterday. I might go get me a couple of different breakers to keep as spares.

But when you say change out the 50 amp breaker for the level up system, are you talking about the main 50amp breaker in the unit? The level up breaker that you changed is in the breaker panel or near the hydraulic reservoir?

It may be under a small plastic cover on the divider wall to the pass through storage. Follow the main power wire from the hydraulic pump. It will connect to the breaker. If you are caught in a bad situation, you could always connect both wires to the same terminal on the breaker to get power to the pump to get you out of the bad situation.

Is there a certain brand of "Short Stop breaker" that is recommended?

They replaced mine at the GD rally last fall an it is still doing it, hope somebody find an answer for this. Going to look for a 60 amp breaker an see if that helps, or maybe a different brand.

When you say, "They", I am assuming that you are making reference to the Lippert team. Since owning my unit, I have tried to stay away from any LCI replacement parts, if possible. You might want to try to locate one from a reliable parts store.

I replaced mind after chatting with a guy on FB. He said Lippert said the the system is supposed to have an 80 A breaker, so that's what I did.

    Here is some pics.

I cut the power wire in the middle and mounted the breaker to the wall near the Hyd. pump. (note) There is something very solid in the wall to the right of where I mounted my breaker. I have a 2016 380TH.

I moved the lead from the left side of the old breaker to the power side of the breaker.

    orbiker,

I see you have an unfused black wire off of the top post that goes to your breakaway switch just like mine.

If that sucker ever shorts out, there's nothing to limit the current or open the circuit. I fixed mine.
