    Auto-leveling as an add-on for 2016 337RLS

I don't recall seeing a definitive answer to this (although there have been a few discussions). Our 2016 337RLS was built before the auto-leveling started being offered/included from the factory on the Reflection fifth wheels. Can anyone (including Janice) tell me what would be involved - if it is possible - to install the auto-leveling system on our rig and what the cost would be? From what I have read, the struts (Ground Control 2.0) on our rig are the same used for the leveling system but have one motor per pair rather than one motor per strut. I would assume upgrading would entail installing the individual motors and the control system? Can a dealer do this or would the RV need to be pulled to the GD facilities? What would be the approximate cost? Then, for other owners, would it be worth the money compared to using the Anderson levelers and the front landing gear to level?...

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not going to be PC here but personally I wouldn't bother with a 4-point electric system over mine. 6-point hydraulics would be a different story. I can have my 337 fully leveled and setup in minutes with the OEM setup and I'm not exaggerating. We just returned from over 3 months on the road moving every 2 to 3 days. That's an awful lot of setting up. We arrived yesterday at our current campsite and my wife and I started laughing at how we had the trailer all set, slides open and putting down the rug in 15 minutes including electric and water connected. If my trailer had come with them, fine, but I certainly wouldn't spend that money on adding them. I'd rather add disk brakes.

I think any dealer can install them for you and I heard electric would be around $4 grand and hydraulic, around $6 grand.

    Just my thoughts.

You seem to always be the sensible one, Poppy. The night that prompted the question was a very stormy night last month in East Texas when the region was getting flooded. We pulled in after dark and I should have been smart enough to just park it, go to bed, and set up in the morning (we were staying five or six days, anyway). Thanks, as always, for your input.

x2 on what Paul (Poppy) says. Auto levelling would be nice to have . . . but there are lots of things (like disc brakes) ahead of this on our "wish list".

The only PITA is almost always having to back the street side up on to about 1" blocks to get crosswise level (because of the weight imbalance to this side). I'm still wondering about adding an extra leaf to the springs on this side only, or maybe a 1" spacer between the springs and the axle on this side?, so that the trailer rides level on the road and will more often be level without blocks on a campsite. Fore/aft levelling is just part of unhooking from the truck.

I went to 7K springs all round. Gives me an extra inch of clearance and keeps the trailer level enough that I don't have to block on a level site.

Not to hijack this thread but I'd love more specifics on this Nick. Did you post about it before? If not, would you? I'd love to know costs and brand, etc.

I did a while back. My concern was extra clearance for 16" wheels as I had one rub on the way down south last winter. The springs were suggested by an RV tech in Hemet CA and the brand is whatever he ordered. The springs themselves were $220 and with labour, shipping and taxes the total was $514. So far I have been quite happy with the result. PM me if you would like any more info.

    Nick,

This great information ! I also missed your earlier post on this fix. This could solve two problems for me. The side to side ride height difference and raising the trailer an inch would get me to a perfectly level tow. Do you happen to know what the rating is of the original springs ? Would this be 5200 lbs like the axle rating ?

    Thanks

I don't know but assume they are the same rating as the axles. The new ones are definitely beefier.

Bulldog jacks would be my best solution to leveling the trailer, I want to buy 6 of them to help level and lift the ttires incase of a flat but I can't figure out how to mount the bulldog mounts to my frame
