6 volt battery RV wiring, is this correct

Team, I pulled my batteries to bring home to charge, as I use them while the RV is in storage....I have had a 6volt batter tender on one of the batteries for almost 42 hours, light is still constant red......which I am told means still fully trickle charge.....
My son in law ( Rick )who is a car guy is going to bring over a volt meter and check both batteries.
I took a picture of how General RV set up my twin 6 volt batteries, Rick said that the picture did not look right.....I just talked to him and he said he has looked online, they show tandem battery connections different than the way mine was set up by the dealer.....
I am going to try and post the picture, what I would like to know is what is the correct setup for a tandem 6volt battery setup? Mine has one negative from the RV to only one of the batteries?

Your last picture looks right to me. They are hooked in series so that you get 12v to the RV

Hook 1 Positive to 1 Negative- 6+6=12 volts
Hook camper leads to remaining posts + & - on seperate batteries.

Last pic looks to be correct.

The batteries are identical but they are not in the box the same way around. The rear battery is placed so the pos terminal is on the right and the front battery is placed with the negative terminal on the right.

    Hi utahducks,

A voltmeter can tell you some things about battery condition but a load tester can tell you a lot more.
There are expensive versions of these but the inexpensive version will work just as well. (See picture)
The meter puts a significant electrical load on the battery (a simple heating element within the tester) and measures how the battery responds to this load. You should be able to find one of these for about $50.
