Added the Flex Air Pin Box

I just installed the lippert flex air pin box to my 350M to hopeful help with the chucking and just overall smooth the ride out a bit more. We have a new born and that chucking was bad, so that's why I bit the bullet on this. Now to actually take it for a ride to see if it helped at all.

Looks good amigo! We have been considering one as well. Not quite sure why as we don't have chucking issues but the air ride sure seems sexy... and possibly a bit easier on the trailer itself if it eases some of the hard jolts.

Let us know how she rides and if you think it's a good upgrade.

They do have one that is almost the same pin box but with out the rota-flex piece. It's called the trailair. Then they do have the 5th airborne. I thought about getting the morryde pin box at first, but I figured go big and get everything in one. Q

I got mine of etrailer.com, because they have a 110% price match guarantee. If you find it cheaper somewheres else (including shipping) they will refund you 110% of the difference.

Happy Travels ahead I hope. Lol

Here's my vote- a year and a half full timing with the Trail Air pin box. It is awesome, when we get in colder weather need to add air to the point of the arrow. When we are on rough roads I glance through the back window of the truck and see the fifth wheel moving up and down, not a lot, but I know that without the air bag these jolts would be going into the frame and body structure. It also does not exhibit chucking. It is worth the investment!

I use the Andersen Ultimate Connection, would the version of this pin box w/o the rota-flex option be compatible with the Andersen?

Ok, so the DW and I just got back from 45 mile drive pulling the 350M down one (of the many) bad Louisiana Highways. This part of the Hwy we went down will rattle your fillings out your teeth just by driving a 1 ton not pulling anything down there. So needles to say, it was one of the best roads to try this new pin box out on.

We set out on this journey pulling down some fairly new asphalt back roads. We finally got to the Hwy and merged on and got up to a comfortable 60 mph for the first part of this leg. We could feel the road in the truck, by like the DW said it was more of a plush bumps. Then we finally got to the rough road, speed limit increased to 65 mph, set the cruse control and let the pin box do its thing.

What I can say, as it's hard to describe what everybody considers hard bumps, that the bumps were easier to take. The Chucking was almost gone. What happens with the chucking is we hit a bump in the road, the camper would jerk on the truck and then stop. Where as before, we would hit a bump and the truck and camper played an infinite game of tug of war until the road smoothed out. Which was not fun.

As far as the air bag on the hitch, that was a big improvement on the connection between the truck and trailer.

My final thoughts on it is, that it improves the ride quality, but you will feel bumps in the road still. If you have the money to spend on a new air ride pin box, it can be worth the comfort in the cab for the long haul.

P.S. The 5 month old was in the back seat sleeping when we took the ride. He didn't wake up until almost the end of the first leg as the road really got bad. But he didn't cry and seemed comfortable back there.

Have a chance to get a used on for $700. Based on your review, I think I'm going to for it.
